Our destination is Guam. How far in advance to start planning? Transporting your wedding gown so it doesn't get lost on an airline, ect, ect. Photographers? Any other tips would be helpfulBecause that's where we want to have it. My husband was stationed there and thinks it's the most beautiful place on earth. There won't be any guests - just the two of us. So, why not have it on Guam - lol.JEANETTE- that's an outstanding tip for the wedding gown - I never would have thought of that! Thank you so much!

Get some help from a good travel agent. Their services are free and they know a lot more than anyone on here will. They can also get you the best deals.

im from the philippines. we have the most perfect beaches and sunsets here... try to google our tourist spots... i can suggest boracay island, panglao island if you like beaches. if you like your own private island, i can recommend mantigue island in camiguin... just google it if you want... maybe it can change your mind... its breath taking.

hopefully you have at least a year to prepare for this... contact a travel agent... give them a list of things that are important to you and the number of guests you expect. your agent can get you great group pricing if planned far enough in advance and your guests can pay on the trip over the next 8-9 months so they wouldn't feel the financial blow so intensely... also be prepared for the number of guests to drop as not everyone can afford to be off work AND pay for the trip!!as far as your gown and other presious items, you will want to fed-x them overnite to your hotel at least 5 days before incase it gets lost in shipping but you will need your agent to set this up for you with the hotel manager... or you could risk putting it on the plane with you and hope it arrives!!Good luck and congrats!!

Check the dress on the plane. Do not put it in the suitcase (in case you lose it upon arrival). Start planning now if you have a date set. A year is always perfect amount of time to plan. I would get in contact with a travel agent to set up arrangements for your guests. if you can go to Guam beforehand, you can pick out a venue, photographer, musicians, flowers, etc.

Definitely take the dress with you on the plane. Go through a hotel to book all your vendors. Even though it's a US territory, it's still a foreign country and a hotel will provide you with reliable vendors. You said that it's just you two, but you will need witnesses, so if your witnesses cannot afford the flight and/or hotel, be prepared to pay for them.
