| I've been thinking about this for a long time and to be honest I have only a veige idea of what I would like to do in the future. My biggest passion is music but by this time I have realised that it is an extremley hard profession to get in to unless you have the talent [which I highly doubt I have at this moment in time and so maybe later [8 or so years time] I will see where I am with this...Anyway - I have taken photography as one of my a levels mainly because it includes digital manipulation which I am very interested in. The question is, I want to choose a 4th course in media that will allow me to have as many options in the media industry as possible. I would one day love to be part of a film or tv production - sound...lighting...wardrobe...camera operator... or maybe I could use my abilities in digital manipulation, special effects sounds like something i'd like to find more about.I could even be part of a production - to cut and edit or film for adverts/film .....Sorry I am getting to my question now.1) What jobs in particular do you think would be of interest to me?2) which of these courses do you suggest me taking that would give me the widest range of oppertunities -- FILM STUDIES - In the AS we study how popular films are put together and understood by their audiences. We look at the camera and editing techniques used, narrative, genre and the workings of the film industry. - MEDIA BTEC FIRST CERTIFICATE [2 GCSE'S] - You will gain knowledge and occupational skills relevant to those who aspire to eventual employment in the media industry.- MEDIA STUDIES AS AND A LEVEL - In the AS we look at a range of media forms including advertising, magazines, television and films, analysing the way these are constructed, how they engage audiences and represent social ideas and beliefs. |
