| f11 if you want a wide depth of field, f1.8 with a very fast shutter speed if you want a very shallow depth of field |

| well that depends on what you are photographing, and what you want to see in the image. if you are using f1.8 and you going to have to enjoy the benefits of/deal with the effects of a very shallow depth of field. also it depends on your ISO, and what shutter speed range your camera has. but the rule is thus. it is called sunny sixteen rule.it works this way. on a sunny day you will get a reasonably correct exposure if you have your aperture set at f/16 and your shutter speed set to the inverse of the ISO or if your ISO is 100 then your shutter speed would be at 1/120 of a second ( because there is no 1/100 of a second that is a full stop) if your ISO is 200 then your shutter speed would be 1/250th of a second ( again its the closest full stop) and then the neat thing is you can adjust that any way you want to go thusly: say you were useing ISO 100 and instead of f/16@ 1/120 you wanted a shallower depth of field, you just use an Equivolent exposure such as f/8@ 1/500th of a second, and the exposure would stay exactly the same. just remember whenever you ad a stop to one control you have to take a stop away from the other. so in the example above, we added two stops of light to the f/stop so we had to subtract two stops of light to the shutter speed. any questions or you are not sure of everything above, feel free to email me at heathrow22@gmail.com |

| well the lens is lik our eyes so in strong sunlight we squint. simlarily in strong sunlight we use a smaller apperture with a large f number. for more depth hoever u will use a bigger aperture and a amsller f no and vivce versa |
