Thats two things that unfortunatly do not go together. Thats why everyone in hollywood date the next person they star in a movie with. And with musicians there is always gonna be women swooning over you if you make it big so thats a recipe for disaster. Id say pick the one that means the most to you and forget about the other.

With the technology today, you can setup a pre production studio in your basement and record your album. Then take it to the recording studio to get it mixed by a good engineer. Moreover, you can go to beatbuggy.com or soundclick.com to find the production you need for recording. It's much easier to keep a home life while being a musician.

you got married because you want to be a team. SUPPORT from your mate is what being married is about - marriage is also about compromise - personally been married 31 yrs & still counting. set your mate down let them know how important this is for you to give this a try and make sure you let your mate know their opinon is important as is their support. and put a time limit - such as after X amount of time - be it 6 months or a year - to sit down and reasses what is going on and if the two of you are content with the way things are going

Like an expensive restaurant or jeweler - if you have too ask *how much* - then it;s already more than you can afford. "Singing record deal" - maybe you mean "signing a record deal" - is this already done? Do you have much accomplishment already, and have already a following in your public performances, that a record company is going to promote you? Or are you just another wannabe? This sounds a lot like those pathetic *help help - how do I get discovered?* questions from teeny boppers. If you are mature enough to be married (?), then you should also be mature enough in your professional and business acumen to know what it will take to make a LIVING in music. "Signing a record deal" sounds to me like you are not at all certain, or even on the way to making a go of your music. What credentials do you have that a company would WANT you? You do not sound to me at ALL secure enough to make a go of this - my the short answer to your question is NO!!! Make a life together - make a living to support yourselves. Study music and perform until you KNOW FOR CERTAIN if you are ready for the next professional step. Only then should you risk your future and the future of your spouse on a dream that from you question, appears to not be on a solid foundation.
