I need some tips on how to easily and inexpensively decorate the church for my wedding. I dont have much time or money. My wedding colors are Navy Blue and White. (There will already be trees with twinkle lights up on the stage)

Pew bows. Your local flower shop will make them for next to nothing.

Bows are usually a fairly inexpensive way to go. You can also get some inexpensive fake ivy vines or strings of flowers to decorate the edge of the stage. Also - for the reception - you can use candles as centerpieces rather than expensive flowers.

I actually saw pew bows at Dollar Tree last week- I didn't inspect them, so I'm not sure what the quality is, but it's worth a look.

Remember that above all, you are the centerpiece of the wedding decorations.Sorry to put it so bluntly, but it is true and you need to work around you and the attendents surrounding you. When a guest walks into the church (actually the santuary), what do you want them to see?Blue and white ribbons and bows from every pew end? white pillar bases with flowers flowing or cascading down from them? (easily rented at most rental places-the pillars that is)Both of these ideas are very inexpensive and quickly done with pins and tape. The flowers can be faux and really should be as you want to decorate the night before and still have them looking beautiful.Oh, and get someone else to do the actuall decorating, and love it no matter what. Micro managing some things is a no no and if you do not have the finances to hire a decorator, then give your friends a theme (colors) and a budget, or just give them the materials that you purchased and let them use their creativity and you focus on the important stuff, enjoying your wedding and the hustle and bustle leading up to it.

Fake or real rose petals sprinkled down the aisle way looks beautiful and classy. My fiance (now husband) bought a beautiful arch and his sister decorated it with tulle and silk flowers as a backdrop for the ceremony. We have the arch in our garden now, and is a wonderful reminder of our special day.PS - if you know of someone who recently got married, ask them if they have any extras/leftover decorations. I have some in my closet and would be willing to borrow them out if you are in NC!

Who says you have to put up a bunch of decorations at the church? Maybe just have some lovely bouquets at the beginning of the aisle? I would spend more time and money on decorating the reception area.Good luck.

I agree with some of the other responses. You don't really need to decorate the church. We didn't decorate ours and the pictures still turned out beautiful. I think the trees would be enough.

Our church was quite ornate, so we didn't need much.We had two or three large floral arrangements - which we moved to the hotel reception site to use at the head table. Also, had pew markers for the first few family pews.
