Well, you are off to a good start by determining your budget and the number of guests that you want to attend. The best thing to do is start looking for a church (if you want to be married in on) as well as a reception site. Get that squared away first, then depending on the space that you choose you may need a caterer (or the site may make you use their catering), decor, photographer, etc.Definitely sign up at theknot.com. It's an excellent website that has lots of tools for planning your wedding. It has been such a great help to me.

first think about the venue, food, dress and the travel(car things)those are the important things. i think you dont need to get married if you on tight budget. why dont you get married later as your still 22 years old. do it when you both are living with each other

Save save save. Weddings with 100 guests are very expensive. The money that you will spend on a big wedding could be used as a down payment on your first house. I saved money by having a small wedding-I invited about 50 people to the ceremony, then had a picnic in my parent's backyard. My friend's helped out with the cooking and preparation. It was so much fun. My Godmother even made my wedding cake and the silk flower arrangements. We probably spent about $300 on the food.

A dinner for 100 people won't be cheap; not only will you need a venue, but a caterer as well. The total bill will run several thousand dollars. If you are on a budget, get married at home, or in a park, limit the guest list to family, and party on snack foods. This will keep the bill down to a few hundred dollars rather than a few thousand.

ONLY about 100ish people is not small, especially if you want a served dinner. I don't know where you are located but these things do matter depending on cost in your area. I live in Huntington Beach, CA and mine will be about $50 per person at the restaurant I chose (alcohol absolutely NOT included). That was being modest. It can run about $120 per person at the beach front resorts. You can expect to pay at least $1000 to host beer and wine only for your guests as well.By the way, the flowers and decorations are EXACTLY what your guests will remember. When was the last time you heard someone marvel at the food they ate at someone's wedding? What they remember is the atmosphere. The candles, the lighting, the music, the flowers, the ceremony, the attention to detail, wedding favors that they can take home, the programs they will keep in a memory box, the cameras they had on their tables and all the funny pictures they took of your wedding guests dancing. You have a lot of time to plan but I would say that you need to start a savings account specifically for your wedding. As you start researching, you are going to be surprised at the costs. I sure was! I am in WAY over my head but this is the one and only time I'm going to do this and I want our guests to feel that their presence there mattered and that we were really throwing a party for them.

Start with your wedding colors. Choose colors that go with a summer wedding. You will have to goggle it, I forgot the web address. Then figure out if you want to have it at a church or not. Some churches will do it for a fixed price or donation. Since you are on a fixed budget, you may want to find other places, like a backyard or something. As for your dress and bridesmaid dresses, try an outlet store. I got my bridesmaid dresses at a JC Penny outlet for $5 each. Decorations you ca do yourself, using silk flowers. My bouquet was done with silk flowers. I didn't use flower for my bridesmaids. I used wine glasses with little candles that were in my wedding colors, in them with ribbons also in my wedding colors hanging off the glass. I had also asked my mother if she wanted to contribute to helping out with the wedding. I told her she didn't have to and it was ok if she didn't want to or couldn't. She bought my dress.($850) and helped with catering. Now if you rent a hall or banquet room, you can do a pot luck reception. I don't think that is too ghetto. But if you want to invite 100 people, you may have to have it catered, which can be expensive depending on what time of day your wedding is. i could go on and on, but I'm not sure how much room i have. So, email me and I'll try to help you out some more.

This is what I am doing (5 1/2 years together, lived together 4 1/2) - First I got a planner. You can get a really nice one free from JcPenney if you register there. Then I set a budget. After that we found a reception site that is a banquet facility. They make their own food and you just pick the menu. After that I waited for a dress sale and bought my dress. Be open minded about the dress too. You never know until you try them on. A $99 dress may be what you were looking for! I am considering doing my own flowers. There are websites like brides.com that tell you how. I am also waiting for sales at places like Michaels to buy decorations for cheap. If you haven't missed all the bridal shows, go to one! They are super fun and you get great ideas. I am shopping around for a good priced cake too. All in all, you need to explore possibilities around you and online and wait for the best prices. Don't settle!
