| Anyone have any thoughts about an alternative style wedding? I don't want to wear white, I don't want to get married in a church...we don't even want a cake...but we want some sort of desert that looks cool..we're thinking November 2008...any stories or ideas are GREATLY appreciated! |

| I do suggest getting the "Anti-Bride Wedding Planner." It helped me think outside the box. Of course, your wedding needs to reflect YOUR personal style. So, once you have a theme maybe, our answers would be more specific.For a dessert a suggest cup cakes. So fun! They even have tiered holders for them. I have a red wedding dress if you're interested  When I got married I was very into non-traditional. The best advice I can give you is to plan this using things that you like. Dont limit yourself to wedding mags and your friends opinions. I had a red wedding dress (by Maggie Sottero) and my wedding colors were yellow orange and red. We also got married in November (04) outside in Maryland at my friends house because they had this beatiful backyard with a gorgeous cabin and awesome forest. We walked down to ukalale music (by IZ, "somewhere over the rainbow") and it was beautiful.The biggest thing to remember about non-trad weddings is that they're non-trad because traditional just isnt what you like. So sit down with your hubby-to-be and talk about what you DO like. It should be all about you two anyways.CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK in the marriage. Its going to be hard, I hope you make it. |

| I've hears stories of people getting married in a Wiccan ceremony, on Halloween - although they don't call it Halloween. Good Luck! |

| We're not doing ours in a church either. We're getting married at a restaurant on a Lake. | yea.I love non traditional weddingsfirst off get married in jeansor you could wear a denim skirt...get custom t's that say things like Bride and Groom and Flowergirl...etc. for the wedding partytry donuts for desert. of do a desert bufet and have anything and everythingget married at a cabin, by a lake or anywhere outdoors. it makes for great memories nad wedding pics!Have a picture frame with wide matting and a pic of you 2 and have everyone sign the mattingdance to your fav genre of music intead of the traditional wedding dances. Just put on your fav country, rock, pop, alternative, or whatever and have a blast.do what you want not what everyone says a wedding should be |
