I don't know what to do next. I am registered on websites that email me checklists telling me what I should do next. According to them I am behind in some things. Do I really have to plan my wedding in a certain order?http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3360&prodgroup=10It looks much better on me! I added a tierra and I am wearing thevale a little higher.

Congrats on your dress! They put them in order of which are hardest to book I think...like it's hard to find a photographer a month before the wedding and obviously you can't make a seating chart till you have R.S.V.P's(unfortunately) so most of the guidelines they have make sense but you don't have to follow them exactly.

Of course you don't have to plan your wedding in a certain order. That's still. Those sites are just there to give you guidelines and let you know what you should (hopefully) have accomplished before you go on to the next thing. But you don't have to follow it step by step but you should atleast try. If you bought the dress ahead of time...then when the site says you should do it...you'll have time to do something else you didn't think you'd have time for! It will all work out.

Well... your timeline all depends on WHEN you're getting married and how long you have to plan. I know that a lot of photographers/DJ's/Reception Halls that are booked 1 - 1 1/2 years in advance. You will find that you will not do everything in the order of the timelines that are pre-written for you.... but they sure are nice to have so you don't forget important things!! I would skim over a few different ones and make sure you're not going to miss a deadline for anything. |

You don't have to plan things in a certain order, but you should stick to a time-frame. Get the florist, photographer and D.J. at least 6 months before the wedding. Don't stress out too much about time. Everything will come together in the end. I was always behind on things too according to those websites.

Do them in the order that you feel is important. I had the checklist and did not do everything or in there order. My wedding still turned out great.

Reserve all of your vendors then you can relax a bit. Make sure you have the church coordinated with the hall (if you are using a church) get your florist, photographer, limo, dj/band, and if needed baker lined up. (some catering halls provide a cake in their package. Make sure you ask about that) You don't have to pick your songs, flowers, or cake right away but you do need to reserve the day so they will be able to do it that day. Also order your bridesmaids dresses about 8-10 months prior. Ask the store - stores like Davids bridal don't need that much time. After that have fun. You can relax a bit and then start the fun stuff like picking out colors, like making favors, programs, and personalizing things. Look at flower bouquets you like, cake designs. That's the fun stuff. Good Luck and your dress is beautiful.
