We have a small wedding party (total 6 people including bride and groom)I think the limo's are way too expensive especially when i really only need it for an hour in between the ceremony to reception and then home from the reception. (all limo companies around here have a 4 hour minimun policy)Do you think if i rented a nice brand new mini-van it would look really tacky?

Honestly, it's not very exciting. Getting a limo and driving together is exciting and fun, a van is just for utility. Unless for some reason these people cannot drive themselves, why can't people just carpool with each other or with family? Save the money all together.

At least get an Excursion or Expedition...something like that. We did this for a bachelorette party instead of the limo once...and it was fun.If that is all you can get though, don't fret! Enjoy your day and don't sweat the real small details.

Ive been in weddings where we rode in limos.. its fun and all, but not exactly the highlight of the day if you know what I mean. I mean, its a limo. Zzzzz...No one cares or notices how you get to the reception. If money is an issue, it could be better spent on something else.Just consider your dress. Princess Diana had an enormous one so she would not have fit in a minivan!

Nothing wrong at all with renting a minivan. Check with your rental company though, most of them have a 24 hour rental policy, so it my be cheaper for you to rent a smaller limo. Think about who will be drinking and who will be driving everyone home after also.

If you only need it for an hour I wouldn't spend the money on a limo. Costs too much. I would just rent the van as you said or even an expedition as someone else stated. The Expeditition would look a little more classy than just a van if that's what you're concerned about. But either way spending the money on the limo is silly especially if you only need it for a short time. Save it for something else.Congrats!

you should rent whatever you want.... your bridal party are not the people paying for this so they just need to deal with what they are being given.... if you really have to tell them if they want a limo then they can pay for it themselves.other wise i would stick with the van..

Well, I don't know about a mini-van...but what my friend did, and this saved her a lot of money, was rent a BMW SUV...at first she thought it would be a lot, but then she priced a few places and found out it was within her budget. Maybe you could even rent a cadillac escalade. However, you could always get on the phone with the limo company's and explain you only need them for a certain number of hours. The smaller businesses in the area might be more apt to help you than the bigger businesses. It never hurts to ask.

Not at all. Most people don't *really* notice what the bridal party is riding in.

Mini vans are not cool.I can totally understand that you want to save some money though. How about something that's a little more stylish but still affordable? Like a big SUV or something like that?

Honestly, nobody's really going to see you get in and out of whatever form of transportation you decide to use. People should be in the church when you arrive and in the reception when you arrive there. Don't waste your money. However, I do agree that getting an SUV might be better. Not for looks, but because it's easier to get in and out of an SUV than a sliding minivan door.
