| I'm a sophmore in High School and I can't stand it! All anyone cares about is getting drunk and smoking pot and having sex. I'm so sick of it, I feel like I'm too good for that and it's annoying how I can't carry a conversation. All girls want to talk about is gossiping and boys and s***. I'm a girly girl, but I also want to have real conversations. It gets really boring after a while. Also, I hate the pressure to smoke pot and drink and how its "cool". I bet 75% of the kids who say they smoke pot would say their high if you rolled tobacco into a joint. My best friend and her boyfriend are literally planning their wedding after dating for 8 months. SO IMMATURE!!Also, I have opinions about politics and watch the news every night, but everyone thinks politics are boring and dont effect them which is unbelievably stupid in my mind. |

| So find a local youth group that has similar interests. Go to the library and ask if they've got any information on groups that you could join. |

| It's difficult being way ahead of your peers in maturity. I guess the only relief for that is also having some friends that you see outside of school who are older than yourself. |

| try finding some new friends with the same interests as you. Sometimes friends just grow appart and it sounds like thats happening to you |

| Danger , check your relationship with your family. mostly your father. Are you too close with him ?then you have been emmotionally abused and you take care of his emotioanal well being , So you were never a kid , you were given responsibilities that you weren't supposed to have.In future you will face depression /anxiety . go hear this helped me a lot covertincest.orgcheck the forums . i feel so bad for youor the other side is you are TOO SMART. but think about it. |

| That's high school. But most schools have groups of "nerds" too...people more interested in classes, politics, whatever. They may not be cool, but they will be more mature in general. |

| Some kids are just brighter than others. Don't agonize over it. Do the things that make you happy, and associate with people with your interests. If the other kids think politics is boring, so be it. A lot of adults think so too! |

| Thats sort of how my school is, everyone just gives in to peer pressure and becomes one of "them". Just find other friends, i bet theres other kids in your school who are like you. |

| It's hard to be mature for your age. Just concentrate on what you want out of life, plan your education and college (no need to pick a major yet but work towards that) and try to find friends who are not so shallow. It kind of sounds like you run with popular kids, so I'm guessing you are pretty. You may actually find you have a lot more in common with smarter kids (nerds, sorry) than the socials and idiots you run with now. Good luck. |
