| the first answer is right. allow them to do it. My friend wanted to cut hers, but instead they made a cake out of cupcakes. sounded tacky at First, but it came out so beautiful. The person who made the cake did make a small cake for the bride and groom to keep for the one year ann. here is a pic of the "cupcake" cake they hadhttp://archives.zinester.com/19800/114357/174833_CupCakeCakeV001.jpg |

| top you eat on your one year anniversary so you would take that off and then i would ask the person who made your cake cause that is all i know about it..sorry |

| You start at the bottom layer. You remove the first layer, because as tradition you are supossed to save it in the freezer until your 1 year anniversary and eat it then. Normally, the caterer or baker, can show you a simple method to cutting the cake, simply ask when you pick it up. They should be able to give you a hint or tip to cutting quick and even slices from the cake without ruining it or making it look like you destroyed it as you were cutting it! |

| You start with the top most layer that will not be saved by the bride and groom.Cut in 2 inch wide concentric circles from the outside edge and slice at 1 to 2 inch intervals. this gives a typical guest slice of 4 cubic inches of cake :)if you have more questions wilton.com is great with this stuff! |

| If I remember correctly you take the layers apart once you are ready for it to be cut and served to guests. Your baker/caterer/etc. should do it for you or give you a better explanation of how to do it. |

| The bride and groom cuts one piece for each other and normally the caterers will cut and serve the cake! Don't worry about it at all Just make sure you feed each other cake and it ends with a kiss: you cut the cake together put the cake in your mouth and he eats it from your mouth and you end upp kissing each other awesome!! | First of all when your wedding cake arrives it is semi-defrosted. This is so it is fresh and will last through the reception as well as picture perfect and easier to cut. If you do not cut it correctly you will have a complete mess and it will ruin your special day. Sometimes you can ask the bakery if they will have someone come in to cut, but most of the time you can have either the caterer or the wedding planner cut your cake. Remember even for the photo when you and the groom cut into the cake it is different than say cutting a birthday cake. 1st Tier - Anniversary - lift off and place in box provided2nd Tier-Set aside in case it is needed3rd Tier- This tier is what you cut for your cake photo and it is the tier you use first to serve to your guests.This is how you cut your wedding cake for the photograph only:1. Make sure you knife or cake cutter is cold and wet.2. Bride holds the knife with the grooms hand on top of hers (there is a reason for the above due to pressure on the cake)3. Tip the knife down so that the tip goes in first not the whole blade at once then gently allow the rest of the blade to follow.4. Then make a second cut (this is after the picture is taken on the first cut)5. The person who is going to cut the cake should do it as follows........Cake cutting for serving.......1. Make sure the knife is cold and wet2. Take the knife and cut a circle in the middle of the third tier3. Then cut from the circle out to the side of the cakeThe above steps makes sure that the cake stays intact..... |
