My sister is getting married outdoors in a park next week and she doesn't want anything fancy or over done. No reception or anything. I wanted to do some low key decorations and things to make it look like a wedding without going overboard. So any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

I was married outside and everyone thought it was very pretty. The nice thing about getting married outside is that you really don't need many decorations. There was a gazebo where we got married and we just used some potted plants up by the gazebo to make it more colorful. We also used a flowered garland around the arch of the gazebo. At the back of the aisle, behind where the guest sit, we used a topiary type plant, on each side, to add a little decoration. Other than that, we had a tall candle holder that we decorated with fake ivy and a few flowers and some butterflies that we lit in memory of family members that were no longer with us. -I guess just keep it simple with things that accentuate the nature/outdoors aspect.

You could make a few "pew" bows to put on the end chairs of the aisle. You can get an aisle runner for her so she doesn't get her dress dirty (although that's kind of impossible, especially with an outdoor wedding). You can sprinkle rose petals on the aisle runner. You could get on of those wedding archs. If it is later in the evening you could put a few battery operated twinkle lights in the trees, or hang them somewhere on the chairs, etc. Basically, just try to keep things simple. You definitely do not want to over do it. Let the scenary be your decorations...then add a few small touches here and there. Also, think of things that she really likes. What would she like to see that would make it special for her?

I would set up a table with white linens, put large white candles in various crystal or clear bowls, vases, glasses, and arrange them in various cluster on the table. I would be sure to add long branches, sprayed white, and sprinkled with a diamond dust fine glitter, standing in vases or laid in between the candles. I would also mark out a wide aisle with the same branches, or perhaps just flower petals. If there are plenty of trees you might want to add white bows. No crepe paper too tacky. Simple yet elegant. If there arechairs, perhaps a white bow at the end of the row marking the aisle. Another idea is to add an arch with tulle and greenery as a setting. Really inexpensive at Michaels orHobby Lobby.Have fun.

Well, it's going to be a little hard considering it's outside in a park. Try some white and silver baloons with some white tablecloths and white streamers.

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
