| I'm looking for a table decoration idea for our 9/6/08 wedding. We are on a pretty tight budget so we're trying to avoid overpriced flower ensembles. My fiance has actually been quite helpful in planning and mentioned the idea of using green apples in a silver bowl, an idea he got from a fancy restaurant he used to work at in D.C. Anyways, our color are sage green and eggplant so i'd like to somehow supplement the green apple/silver bowl idea w/some sort of purple. Maybe candles? Grape vines? I'm not creative so any and all ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! |

| I think some purple candle holders would be lovely! Or you could alternate the apples with plums in the bowls. I'm trying to think of other naturally purple items to you could incorporate. |

| You could take small grapevines that have a small bunch of grapes and scallop the edges of the bowl with them. Or take a single large carnation (eggplant color) and put them in between the bowl and apples.You could also take sugar, add purple food coloring to it and brush it on the apples for a beautiful presentation. |

| You could get those little wooden balls or other shapes at the craft store and paint them eggplant... then stick them in the bowl with the apples. or you might be able to find some inexpensive fake purple flowers (like baby's breath size) and incorporate them into the bowls. It could also look neat to have an eggplant scrunched fabric area under then bowl then find green apple colored candles.I can think of a lot of ideas--its all dependent on your overall look for your wedding. good luck. Green apples and deep purple grapes would also be pretty in the bowl. |

| you could use an eggplant color piece of silk of satin and you could drape that in the bowl and then put the apples on top and buy some tea lights to put around the bowl that would look really nice, and I also liked Hollywood's idea of painting the apples with purple sugar that would also look very neat. |

| I think you should get some purple ball christmas ornaments and remove the ends of them. Then some how mix up the apples and the balls together, maybe in a tall vase instead of a silver bowl. Or take purple ribbon and wind it in a vase with the apples instead. I don't know if apples in a silver bowl will really look that fancy. |

| Grape vines don't necessarily have a lot of purple color to them but I guess it could depend on the variety of grape. You could place a bunch of purple grapes on the apples or lay them on the table at the base of the silver bowl. The candle light would reflect from the silver bowl and add sparkle. You could get those glass "marbles" and have them on the tables. You could have some inexpensive hardy flowers that could be placed around the base of the silver bowl (or use good fakes). You could run eggplant ribbon through the apples and have the ends hang out. |
