and have one of my own. I hired a freelance photographer so all the money will go to her, she is very reasonably priced ($600 all day no prints, I will print them myself, I am a graphic designer so I can do touch ups too, although she said she would do some). should I tip her? if so, how much?my dads friend is doing our DJ services (as he did for my dad last year at his wedding) and is only asking for $200 for the 4 hours he will be there, does he get a tip too or should I just ask my dad if he tipped and go with what he did?my best friend (and one of my bridesmaids) is a florist and is only charging me the cost of flowers, no labor at all, should I offer her a tip as well? I doubt she will take it, but she could use the money, but she also said this is a part of my wedding gift ( I think, cant remember). I have yet to find a baker, do I tip them?besides caterer, whos tip is already in the contract, is there anyone else I am forgetting that needs to be tipped?

You tip all of the vendors whether they are friends or not unless it's included in the contract. If you are using a limo service, you tip the limo driver too.

Tip whoever went above and beyond for you and don't give it out until you see the final service in action. Don't tip for bad or mediocre service.

I hadn't heard of tipping until I started watching "whose wedding is it anyway" but then again I haven't been in a lot of weddings. I honestly don't see the point of tipping since you are already paying them a huge chunk of change to do their job. It's not like they are getting paid minimum wage. But if it's someone you know that is doing you a favor in that case I would see how you would tip or at least make an attempt to tip and if they do not take it well at least you tried.

Don't tip anyone, it costs enough as it is. Tipping is stupid anyway.
