Over time I want to build a decent collection of lenses... but there are so many out there its quite confusing. I was told that since i just bought my first dslr, a Nikon D80.. i can get many great discontinued older lenses for a good bargain.. and they would work on my camera. I would love to have some recommended to me.. esspecially since i'm on a budget and can't afford thousands of dollars worth of lenses at the moment..I want to be able to shoot portrait, landscape, wide angle, nature, wildlife, macro, and also i would love a nice lens to shoot night photography..I was told to go for the 18-200mm vr, but since its such an expensive lens i was led to look into other options and i came up with this list... Would be worth it or can someone recommend some better lenses(keeping price in mind)?18-55mm - 100$55-200mm with vr - 250$ or 24-200mm - 250$70-300mm g - 150$12-24mm Tokina - 500$24-85mm f/2.5 macro - 300$Also, does anyone recommend buying USED, or no?I also forgot to mention that i own a Nikkor 50mm 1.8, which i think is all i might need for portraits..

Used lenses are fine, if they work right. I shop for my used lenses at http://www.keh.com because they are a great used lens store.Since you are price conscious, I will make my suggestions to you.Wide: the Sigma 10-20mm. Better than the 12-24mm Tokina. Less distortion. Great for wide shots and interiors. I had this one recommended to me by photographer David Luria, who runs the Washington Photo Safari and also photographs apartments for advertising, both indoor and outdoor shots.Midrange: 24-135mm Tamron (if you already have an 18-135mm Nikon, then you don't need this lens). This Tamron is a sweet lens: sharp at all apertures with little distortion.Above: You can go with the 70-300mm G, but VR becomes really important at telephoto focal lengths. I would go for the 70-300mm with the VR built in instead. About $450.To do macro: no question, the Tamron 90mm macro. Great reputation and great price. And for night shots: Nikon 50mm f1.8, about $125. The best buy in Nikon lenses. Now, if you won the lottery:Nikon 14-24mm; Nikon 24-70mm, Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR
