Hello, I have started my own wedding planning business. I am seeking ways to advertise my business to the appropriate market. However, I would like to spend little money on the advertising to start with. All ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Wedding biz is all about references, and word of mouth. You are going to have to print some good and simple business cards. You are going to have to go to all the wedding shows and conventions, buying a table, and stand out there every chance you get to get the chance to work some weddings. If you are really good, people will talk, and you will get calls out of the blue, but you better count of a few hard years getting started. Most rarely walk into a small start up business without tons connections first. Also start a web page that is professional, and shows examples.I know a lady who started making veils. She nows goes around the country modeling her products on the front page of major wedding magazines just staying with the crowds, and getting all those connections. People talk, if you stay around long enough.Bon Chance!

you can do the usual stuff, like putting up ads in newspapers. but remember, provide good service to your clients, and they become automatic advertisers for you. so you should go out of your way to help them out. Then you can create a website, which wont take up much money (conatct me at vr3690@gmail.com if you need help with that). That way you can put up links on dating and matrimonial sites to your website...

Here are some free web marketing tips. Not all web marketing needs to cost money. Aside from website submissions, there are a number of things that web marketers can do that are free, though they may be rather time-consuming. Other marketing tactics are relatively inexpensive, and are often well worth the investment. Follow these basic steps to market your website and business. It’s rarely an instant return on the Internet. You need your website coming up relevant to what people "search for" on the Internet. It takes time to get placement in the right places within the Internet and if you're listed in the right category of searches you stand a better chance of returns. The following is one of the better ways. For a small charge you can have a “Permanent” website advertisement placed in an index such as this in a choice of around 750 categories to target your business trade. This will raise your website profile and increase its chances of extra sales because this site is indexed by the search engines placing your site within public searches. The advantage of a site like this is that you don’t have to update your listing again. For a permanent ongoing promotion: www.search-the-world.com/form/listing

Assuming that you have an active website, consider placement of various critical SEO [Search Engine Optimization] metatags that cansurely achieve a high search engine presence andincrease Internet traffic to your website. Thesemetatag strategies work well with published websitesat Google and Yahoo.Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-basedwebsite, make sure to fill-in the property entriessuch as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failingto do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that canbe readily indexed by search robots. Also consider theInternet audience and their incoming setup. Forexample, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpagestake too long to load up and therefore analog userswill likely lose interest and discontinue entering theFlash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSLlines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. Sobefore designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simplequestion, "Who's my end user - is he on dialup orDSL?" And if you had to choose between these two usersfor maximum marketability, then select analog userssince 80% of most resident users are still analogInternet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpagesis best for them.A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limitthe use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as agraphic, they are not indexable by search robots.Avoid use of frames since any number of search robotsare unable to properly classify textual material.Placement of Metatags:A ranking or search order does take place with Googleand Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag whichshould consist of no more than 65 characters separatedby commas. The "Title" should describe in genericterms, the goods and services, followed by a locationfrom which the resource is located, i.e., city, state. The placement of a domain name which is not genericwithin the "Title" is not appropriate, unless yourdomain name is a major recognizable brand name. The second metatag is the "Description" which isusually 41 words to form a complete sentence whichbest describes one's goods and services. And the very last category - "Keywords" are alsosomewhat limited to 15 words which can be pluraland compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entrieswhich could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" whichis defined as the loading, and submission ofrepetitive words into a particular metatag category."Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reportedto Google's spamreport.com can result in theelimination of your website from their searchdirectory.Good luck!

Yes. If you haven't taken complete control of all these free marketing avenues at Search Engines -- get started!Register your business with Google.com (and other search engines). In less than a week they will contact you and give you lots of cool information on how to use it to your advantage. Then take active ownership of the site that pops up when you search your company name (maybe your company name plus zip code). Add photos, info, specific driving directions, etc. You can add lots of details. Do the same at other search engines.Once you have your Google site started (and similarly at other sites), get to know every link and tab in that site. It is free. Have your friends and clients write reviews of your work there. Then search your company through Google and other search engines and study every link that is associated and do the same at any of those sites that you can put to your advantage. When you are ready to really get big and hire the best for top level Search Engine Optimization to get your business to top level, free organic listing (not paid), contact me at Mr.Yippee@yahoo.com.

Please consider joining a business networking group like BNI. go to www.bni.com . I am a BNI member in Arizona. And it is a worldwide networking group. I have increased my business on a weekly basis by $1200 since I have joined this group. This is strict networking with other small business owners who basically become your sales army by referring their customer base to you. For example, in my group we have an excellent florist who would be a perfect person for you to team up with or a travel agent who could assist those couples for honeymoon or a lawyer if they need pre nups or a real estate agent to help find that perfect 1st new house. By utilizing this networking approach, you become not only the one stop shop for your customers but you become a virtual "fountain of information" that will keep them talking forever about how great you are and what a wonderful service you provide. You are obviously not employing these other people, they are joining forces basically with you... If you have a BNI chapter in your area, you can visit each chapter twice to decide if its for you. I am not selling you a service or an advertising gimmick however referral based networking is the BEST advertising cause its all word of mouth but when you have a whole chapter "advertising" for you its a great feeling!!!!
