I'm going to a formal wedding on Saturday. I'm thinking of wearing my new khaki suit I bought. It's Cotton Khaki (great for spring and summer), 2 button jacket, flat front pants, taylored nicely, black dress shoes, white dress shirt black slim tie. Looks really nice honestly. Is it ok for a wedding? Not me, but here's a pic of it...http://www.flickr.com/photos/songge222/478159719/

OK, but maybe a bit boring.Try a dress shirt in a bright or vivid pastel [ sky blue, jade green, even lavender ], and a print tie with the shirt color in it.Black shoes are OK with almost everything, but I would wear very dark brown.Belt should match shoes or pants.

Is it a daytime or nighttime wedding? I would venture a guess that it's nighttime if it is a formal wedding, as you state. If it truly is formal, I would have to vote no to the khaki. It sounds like a great ensamble, but just not formal enough. If it was linen, then I'd say "yes." But, alas, khaki was invented for casual wear. What you've described would be considered "dressy casual."

For a formal wedding? Probably not. Is it during the day? Formal weddings are usually after 6, but if it's in the day, and the reception right after in the church hall or the local VFW, it's probably OK. If it's in the evening, and the reception is at a fancy banquet place or a nice hotel no. You need a dark suit.It really depends on the degree of formality and location. I know fashion, but more importantly I know etiquette.

Not for a formal evening wedding. You really should wear a black suit. Khaki would be more for a morning or afternoon semi-formal or casual wedding. Since it is cotton khaki that makes it even more casual. I would make my husband wear a black suit. |

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
