| I've been invited to an evening wedding (5pm)and the invitation says formal attire. Does this mean black tie? |

| Not necessarily -- if they meant black tie, they would have mentioned it.An evening wedding calls for a nice dark suit, but since they said formal, they probably would like a tux, and ladies should wear long dresses. Black tie means tails. 5 PM is a little early for black tie -- it's usually after 7, so a tux should be fine. Check with your local tux shop or bridal shop for advice. Different areas of the country have different levels of formality |

Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
