if you are having your makeup and hair done by someone who charges for that then yes you would pay them.

Usually, you do pay for all of that stuff if you get it done professionally. I know it can add up. But no one says you have to get professionally made up or have your hair done. You can do it yourself.

Do it yourself and save yourself the headache. If the bride demands it a certain way, then she needs to cough up the money to pay for it.

Unfortunately thats what being part of the wedding includes - paying for your own outfits. There are ways to decrease the cost of getting your hair and makeup done. Call the other bridesmaids/females and ask if they would go in on a group rate for the hair and makeup. Some stylists will charge less since it's a group. The lady doing my hair is charging $10 per person since theres about 10 of us. We are all doing our own makeup.

Unless the bride is offering to pay for it as a gift, yes you have to pay for it. She shouldn't pressure you to get it professionally done though.

Unless the bride is requiring people to have their hair and make-up done by someone of her own choosing, then you pay for your own. If your bride is requiring something far beyond reasonable "do it yourself" capabilities, then maybe you need to discuss this unplanned expense with her.
