We just got married in Feb, and many of our guests didn't give us anything, which was perfectly fine with me! We got what we wanted out of our wedding day--we were married to each other, our families were there, and everyone had fun!If I knew you were a millionaire and you gave me $25, I'd think that was a bit cheap, but any other way, I'd be happy for the gift. Don't be so hard on yourself!

I work at Target and I help people find things on the registry everyday. A lot of people are looking to purchase $15-$25 gifts for couples who are the children of friends, distant relatives, and like you, someone you aren't that close to. When some couples register, they look for less expensive items to register for that they won't necessarily purchase for themselves, but also register for expensive things like a Dyson vacuum that they can't afford themselves, but hope a group may purchase it for them. If it makes you feel any better, when my best friend, who I spent every waking minute with as a child, got married, I wasn't even able to afford more than a nice card. Her mom even paid for my dress. When I married, she was in the same boat. Just being a part of each other's day was what really mattered.

was it just for you or you and someone? i think it's fine... i have a part of the family where about 5 of them will come and give 25$... now that's rude... but i think it's fine for you. do what you can and that should be good enough.

No..I think that 25.00 was a nice amount since you don't talk much. Some people would have bought the forks and called it a day..no need to hang your head low. She should have been inviting you for your company not your gift, so more than likely she will be fine with it also!

No, its not too little! That sounds about right for a friend from high school that you don't see very often. I think for one of my closer friends that i spend a lot of time with, i'd spend a bit more. But either way, $25 is just fine!

I'm sure your friend understands..I know i would not be insulted at all.. Not everyone can afford a big fancy gift... Especially this day and age.. life is expensive enough.. |

Your gift was fine! 25 dollars is all you can afford sometimes, especially on someone you weren't that close to. Much better than showing up with nothing!
