I'm looking for opinions on the best photo editing software out there. I'd really like to touch up and be able to digitially enhance my photos. My wedding photographer had software that he was able to keep one object in the photo in color and the remainder of the photo in black and white -- that was really nice.

use photoshop. its the best software you can find if you go to deviantart.com you can also download brushes for photoshop to make your pictures have cool effects.

Photoshop can do this for you too. You can use it to beautify the portrait and make it as pretty as the cover of the magazine.You can also change the background of your photo and make the persons look like wandering in the space. It is the most powerful photo editing software.
