My husband and I will be having our ceremonial wedding in Cairns australia in October 2008 but there is SO much to see and do. What would be your top 5 can't miss in Cairns/Sydney area? How's the weather there at this time? We were def. planning on seeing the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, and the butterfly Garden... what are the good beaches/ spas/ restuarants/islands...fairly priced. What about the surrounding areas Cairns like Port Douglas and I wont even start with trying to decide what to do in Sydney. Iam looking for beauty, serenity, and once-in-a-lifetime experience, romance (honeymoon), fun, a good tan, beautiful sunsets/nightskies- landscapes and scenery, I love taking photos. Mark is looking for fun, romance, adventure, and relaxation. What hotels offer honeymoon packages sweets? I can't find anything real good online sept...chocolates and wine on arrival...any suggestions?

try karanda resort and spa or try port Douglas area as for the reef go on a a small dive boat away from green island as the reef there is dead and s***. no colour at all and it will be humid that time of year be prepared.very hot and sweaty.cairns: reef - and hire a car when you get here heaps to see also just book your accommodation nothing else you can plan your day out, without notice here.Sydney: the rocks - darling harbour - kings cross (well worth a look and safe but do go during the day) - Paddy's marketslike i said about cairns only book your accommodation all hotels will have brochures about thing to do i live in cairns now and i come from Sydney

Cairns doesn't have beaches - you have to boat to an island. The city is surrounded by rocks, with a public pool area by the harbor. Its not as picturesque as the Whitsundays, Haymen Island, Noosa Head, Fraser Island... If you're in Cairns, then yes, hit up Daintree & the Reef. But try to get further south in QLD.
