My husband and I will be having our ceremonial wedding in Cairns australia in October 2008 but there is SO much to see and do. What would be your top 5 can't miss in Cairns/Sydney area? How's the weather there at this time? We were def. planning on seeing the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, and the butterfly Garden... what are the good beaches/ spas/ restuarants/islands...fairly priced. What about the surrounding areas Cairns like Port Douglas and I wont even start with trying to decide what to do in Sydney. Iam looking for beauty, serenity, and once-in-a-lifetime experience, romance (honeymoon), fun, a good tan, beautiful sunsets/nightskies- landscapes and scenery, I love taking photos. Mark is looking for fun, romance, adventure, and relaxation. What hotels offer honeymoon packages sweets? I can't find anything real good online sept...chocolates and wine on arrival...any suggestions?

A good place to start in Sydney is the website What's on in Sydney at http://www.whatsoninsydney.com.au A popular spot for romantic weekends in Sydney has always been the Hydro Majestic Hotel in the Blue Mountains. They do a chocolates and wine on arrival package. As far as clothing is concerned, think summer. You might need a sweater in Sydney in the evenings but that's about it. You won't need anything warm in Cairns unless the air conditioning is turned too low.

You won't get anything like that unless you are willing to pay for the expense. You will be looking at a $300 a night in the low season. There is school holidays in October and that the high season. Bali is very inexpensive and they really appreciate the Tourism. A lot of people in Australia are having Wedding in Bali. I be told that you can fly the wedding guest there and back ,have a great wedding and it will still be less then having a Australian Wedding.
