I am starting a photography business an I am looking for catchy name, any suggestions? I do mainly, family portraits, kids, maternity, senior pics, weddings, an things like that. Currently I am using my name, Shauna's Photography but I'm a little unsure about it.. what do you think? I think that I need something more interesting. I believe having an eye catching title may pull potential costumers in. I have a site on myspace until my other site is finished being built an set up.. like I said I am just starting out, have done a few things an had great results an feedback. Check me out if your interested myspace.com/photographgirl2008 an feel free to sign the guestbookI did ask this question late last night so decided I could probably get more answers during the day. Some of the names which arent quite doing it for me that have been suggested are:Capture a moment CaptureSnap itClickHow bout this for a sloganThe pictures you want tomorrow you have to take today!

Instead of giving up on your name (Shauna's Photography- which is unique even just because of the way you spell your name) try coming up with a catchy slogan and an eye catching LOGO. Since what you're selling is the images make sure that your logo really pops and captures the essence of your business. Think about these answers when your designing: Are you more a location or studio photographer; Do you excel doing posed or spontaneous pictures; etcShauna's Photography- Snapshots of [Life/Time]or Shauna's Snapshots- Photography that captures [the/life's] important moments

Your Name + Photography. That's what successful pros use.Plus, if you go with a trademark, you'll have to do an expensive legal search to avoid being sued.Make it easy on yourself and just use your name.V

One drawback of using your name is that it potentially makes your business unsaleable. What about Pro-shot photography?Keep it snappy! Your marketing slogan needs to be too,,, Wink

I am a portrait photographer too. I was recently at a convention and was speaking with a female photographer who owned her own business. She recently changed the name of her studio from her first name to a made up last name. She had been bothered by several wacko's and she didn't want them to know the studio was owned by a female - just a thought.I wouldn't use the name "Click, Snap or Snapshot', sounds amateurish. "Capture a Moment" sounds 70's. Who do you want to appeal to? People that have lots of money or people that are just getting by? When you hear Cartier, Tiffany's, Rolex, what do you think of? When you hear McDonald's, Berger King, Howard Johnson's, what do you think of? The name of your studio should reflect your brand, your style, you. Anuahs is your first name spelled backwards, try modifying this or spelling your last or middle name backwards. I would end the name with the word photography. If you use the word images, people might not realize you do photography.Design a logo that reflects your work too. Good luck.
