...thoughts on a camera comparison. Looking to choose between the Sony DSC-H9 and a Canon PowerShot S5 IS. I am attracted to both models' name quality, zoom capability and accompanying image stabilization. Initially, I would use either in the more basic AUTO point and shoot modes, hoping, as my knowledge increases, to grow into either camera's bevy of user and manual controls.Have always been a Canon devotee, yet the Sony also is intriguing, yet I read some reviews questioning its user interface and image quality. Thoughts? I know each undoubtedly has it's own strengths, just looking for what the consensus would pick, having to do so, all things being equal. Thnx

I think the canon is a better camera.

Canon S5 IS has a hot shoe and you can use an external flash such as 430EX. This is a big advantage.
