I went everywhere to find a dress to no avail. It all sarted becoming too confusing!I went into store no.10. They said if I dont order a dress I may miss out or not have it arrive in time. (my wedding is in Oct) They also stated I may never find what I am loking for! Having tried one on, it fit well and looked lovely but wasnt what I origionally was looking for. They suggested I put a depostit down. I said would think about it. With 3 sales people hovering around me, all saying Id be mad not to take it bla bla bla......STUPID ME did. They said they only take 50% deposits!!! $800 later and a signed reciet ,I realised a couple of days later it wasnt what I wanted and felt pressured into it. I went back with a friend to try it again just in case. They wouldnt help me in the dress and one of the staff was crying as she felt bullied by other staff. My friend asked 'What was I thinking?'.The store refuses to give any of the deposit back. Not even a credit or part of deposit!I have contacted 5 other bridal stores, and they were upset as they felt people like that give the industry a bad name.apparently they all go on the 333 system. 30% deposit and if you cancel they take 33% off your 30% deposit. If I can't get my deposit back....I would at least like to warn everyone about this store!!!! The store owner told me "Too Bad!"I only tried on 2 dresses at the store.

sounds awful!how many times did you try dresses on at this store? I know if you do it too many times you'll get treated like that at some stores.

That sounds awful!I would call the store manager/head office and say that you bought the dress under duress from the sales staff. Perhaps you could get some legal advice!

That IS horrible! I worked in retail for years, and those kind of high-pressure sales techniques are what give salespeople a bad name. Check the place out with the Better Business Bureau, see if there have been other complaints, and file on of your own. Let them know you have done so. My wedding is in October also, and I was rabid to get my dress out of the way. I was waffling about what style I wanted, but my eye kept going back to one I saw on preownedweddingdresses.com. Imagine my delight when I saw the same dress offered by the same vendor through eBay! I ordered and paid, but had trouble communicating with the company. I had to complain to eBay and get their phone number. Even calling it took 3 days to get a response. I gave them my measurements, they sent me a size too small. It took a week to get in touch with them again. I asked for the next size up, they said no problem. They sent a dress TWO sizes up... too big. Another week, and no response. I had to threaten them with negative feedback to get a phone call. They sent a third, the right size, and didn't make me pay shipping this time. They even threw in a crinoline, though it's the wrong color, and doesn't stand up to my heavy gown. It's gorgeous, and I'm having nightmares that I'll change my mind before October. But in the meantime while waiting for that dress I found a BCBG Runway gown for $75 that's perfect as an elegant back-up dress. I found the perfect veil for $30 with shipping, which offsets the additional shipping costs of the gown. I already have shoes and jewelry, and eBay provided a lovely vintage tiara. But since then I've found so many more dresses I liked, for less money, on eBay. I wish I could get married 10 times!Check the return policy on the receipt, before you go to the BBB.Good luck, sweetie. Race ya to the altar this fall!

where are you?? In Australia you can take it to the small claims tribunal, there is usually a law they have to abide by or a cooling of period, they can at least give you advice. And some times you can get results in the shop by saying you will be seeking professional advice.

What I would do is talk to the store manager about you feeling pressured to purchase the dress and see if you cant work something out. Also, Let the manager know that you might need to report them to the Better Business Bureau and give them bad reviews on bridal websites. Basically, let them know that their choice will mean more or less business to them.

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
