| It's just my opinion, but I would think the rate of divorce would be MUCH lower if people dated first.Personally, I would be grossed out to have to marry someone I never even dated! YUK! |

| Ummm, arranged marriages in the US are not the norm. Dating usually comes before any marriage in the US. |

| Typically people do not just get married without dating....You kind of need to know someone before you get hitched. |

| Well you usually have to date before you marry someone you just son't walk up to somwone on the street and say do you want to get married |

| That's "dating" and it makes sense to get to know someone before you marry them, which is one of the reasons people date. |

| there needs to be a reasonable period of time to get to know someone and to see how they are with you and to develop a relationship that would go long term |

| whats the alternative?..........meet, marry the next day, then date?.........Having knowledge of a person in every way, knowing that persons needs, wants, what do they consider happy, what is fun to them, what do they consider love, how do they love, are all questions you answer while dating. How can you marry someone you dont know?........it happens I'm sure. But marrying someone without knowing them is like closing your eyes at a firring range, you may hit the target, you may not, it may go all the way through the target (thus with life).or it may get to the target and bounce off, only to turn and hit you back in the face. I would say that people who do not date, and therefor do not know their new spouse, have 90% or higher rate of divorce. I mean, closing your eyes to shoot, you think you could hit more then 10% of your shots? |
