My fiance and I are not too financially loaded...an aunt had mentioned to ask the party to help pinch in towards the limo, so I had brought it up to my maid of honor-whom was just married last year-and a tradgic accident happened leaving her and their two children, howerver, my fiance does not have "family" and I have my parents which are paying for food. We are paying the rest. When I had metioned it to my moa, she was not fond at all! Now, mind you she and her hubby didnt pay for the limo, his parents did...so I am asking for all opions please! Am I wrong to ask for help?Okay! Thank you all!

You're not necessarily wrong for asking, but if you are getting offended that the bridal party doesn't like the idea...I think that's wrong! You don't NEED a limo for transportation to and from the ceremony/reception. If funds are tight, why not simply scratch it from the budget?

I think it would be really tacky to expect your wedding party, who has already laid out a lot of expenses for your wedding, to also pitch in for your limo. If you can't afford one, don't have one. Skimp on something else if a limo is so important to you. This is a great time to start practicing living within your means.

The grooms parents should have the responsibility of paying for it, traditionally anyway.

You are never wrong to ask for help. The worst that can happen is they say no, in which case they are a bad wedding party. They should be sympathetic to your financial situation and help you pay for the limo.

Honestly under everyones situation it sounds like there shouldnt even be a limo. Its too iffy to be asking for help when it seems like there is just family not even around, or family that is around is already strapped down to providing something and asking for more is just kind of plain rude. I know it sounds like Im saying it like a jerk but I assure you that isnt how it was meant. Id nix the limo if its turning out to be a big deal and have that be that. Dont start a marriage off with stress about a limo

No, but you can ask friends who have nice cars to serve as "Drivers". Its what they used to do a few years back before the limo thing started.

You don't ask the wedding party to pitch in and pay for anything. If you can't afford the limo, you don't use a limo. If someone wants to offer to pay for something, that's up to them, but you don't ask for donations.

It's not a necessity, it's luxury. If I couldn't afford it myself, I wouldn't do it...and that's exactly what we did. Everyone car pooled. Your bridal party already has enough expenses, don't add another.

ditch the limo idea. No one has the money and that is ok but now you need to find a way to get you all there.Ask friends who have nice cars and put ribbons on them thats what a lot of people I know did. Limos are a waste of money. Good luck and congratulations on your big day

It is tacky! Don't ask them. They are probably already blown away at how much they are paying for their attire. This is your wedding and if you can't afford a limo, don't get one.

If the bride and groom want a limo then they pay for it. The wedding party doesn't typically ride in the limo so they have no reason to pay for it unless they want to give that to you as your wedding gift. It doesn't sound like your MOH is of a like mind so I would drop it and pay for it yourselves or don't have one.
