My fiance is second generation Italian, never lived there and doesn't speak Italian (so we're not playing up his culture all that much lol). However, I was born in Russia, it is my first language, and all my family is Russian. Everyone on here says edible favors are the way to go. My idea is to have a Russian chocolate bar with a personalized label on the back (Russian chocolate, if you've never tried it, is AMAZING and the one I have in mind is red with a picture of the Kremlin on it), but I feel like that's not enough of a favor. I thought of adding a little bottle of Italian wine, but that might turn out to be too expensive for both. What do you think? Any suggestions would be much appreciated! The idea is to incorporate both of our cultures into the wedding favor in some way. Thanks! =)

The chocolate bar is enough or you could add some smaller chocolates to it. Frankly, favors are a waste of money. Most people just leave them on the table.

you could attach a doyle of the traditional italian almond candies to your russian candybar. the doyles usually hold a handful of the almond candies, tied w/a pretty ribbon and/or accent flower and a little tag/card that has your names and wedding date.

That would be very nice.I really like the ideaThis way, if they like chocolate.. they can eat it.. if not, they can keep it as something unique from another area of the world. And personalization is always classy!I think they will be great favors, by themselves and if your not interested in incorporating his culture into "every" detail.. you could add the italian wine to go with dinner. Much less expensive than buying several mini bottles.

if you want to do both, set up a favor table and have some of both. that way your guest can pick the favor they want. you could put a note onthe table explaining the significance of your choices. both choices sound very nice.or you could do the russian chocolate as a favor and do a toast with the italian wine. this would be a nice touch.

i ordered bags with our names and the date on them from ebay. then i ordered little stickers with the names and date too but in the middle of the stickers, half have the american flag(me) and half have the brazilian flag(he's from brazil). i am going to put them on the bottom of hershey kisses and put them in the bags. i wanted to do chocolates from brazil but it would be too expensive.

The chocolate is a great idea. For the Italian favor, go with the traditional five Jordan almonds, which signify five wishes for the bride and groom - health, wealth, happiness, fertility, and longevity. Wow, there's going to be some great music at your wedding - from kolomykas to the tarantella! Oh, the food! Can't wait to hear more about what you are planning. (We had a traditional Ukrainian wedding.)

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
