| We're getting married September 27, 2008 in NH. So far everyone is staying at least one night in a hotel. I want to give our guests a little basket of goodies in their rooms, and I do have a small list of items, but they just seem sorta cheesy. Here's what I was thinking:bottles of water, to-go coffee cups, instant hot coco, instant apple cider, cocolate lollypops (one of our 3 favors), directions to various wedding locations, local brochures, tissues, mints, thank you note, disposable camera...also, we have two kids (a ten year old boy and a 5 year old girl)that will be there, what should I include in their packs? i was thinking at least coloring book and crayons for my neice, but my nephew I don't think would appreciate that :)Thanks for any ideas! |

| It sounds like you have a nice basket put together. I would throw in some more snack foods for them to munch on in the hotel like chips, crackers, cookies, etc. Maybe you can include a deck of cards or some kind of magic trick for your nephew (my 11 year old cousin loves learning new magic tricks). You can try going to your local chamber of commerce or if you are a member you can go to AAA. There you can find all types of brochures and coupons to give to your guests. You may also want to include a list of some local restaurants in the area. Other than that it sounds like you have a good list of things. I think it is nice when people do the baskets for out of town guests. As a guest it makes you feel special. :)Good luck to you! |

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
