This is how we did it:Music should be started before everyone arrives, and played ALL NIGHTcocktail hour/picturesIntroductions - everyone stays standing in front of head tableBride/Groom First danceBridal party seated, Toasts1st course (Salad, soup, etc)Cake CuttingMeal - Bride and Groom stop at all tables to say hello/tyFather/daughter danceMother/son danceDance floor open to allPAH-TAY!We didn't do the bouquet toss, money dance, or anything. But you can pick whenever you want for this (after dance floor opens to all).

Most weddings I've been to follow this pattern- cocktails and music waiting for bride/groom to finish pictures (can take 30 min to nearly an hour - plan accordingly)-arrival of bridal party - announcement of bridal party and family- First dances - bride groom - any father/daughter mother/son dances- Toasts/Meal - one hour (I've seen toasts before meals, during meals, after meals - all seems to work)- Make rounds while some guests are still finishing-Cut Cake- Dancing/dollar dance-Bouquet TossJust remember, once people start drinking and dancing, it will be hard to get their attention for anything.

If you are having a DJ, they will know the order and be able to help. As for the order of the reception, ours was as follows....Introduction of bride and groomDinner servedAfter dinner, toasts madeFirst danceWe didn't have any other dances but they would go next. Other than the money dance, I think it goes later. At that point, the dance floor is open to the guestsBride and groom greet guests and chat with them.I would put the money dance hereBride and groom cut the cakeThe reception is now "officially" over so that guests who want to leave can.Bride and groom continue greeting and chatting with guests.Bride and Groom do their last dance to close the reception. If you have guests that need to leave earlier, you can cut the cake earlier in the evening so that guests can leave whenver they need to without feeling rude.

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
