I'm getting married next month and we have pretty much everything planned, i just have been looking for some last minute decoration ideas. Its a hawaiian themed luau style wedding. Does anyone have any ideas on some fun decorations or favors?

I'm having a luau themed 21st birthday party so some of these ideas are a little inappropriate but I'm having can coozies that are in the shave and pattern of a hawian style shirt (you could give them to the bar and they can put them on beer cans if you are having that) , I also got these coconut glasses to put drinks in,and I'm also having these shot glasses that have feet and eyes on them and they are like hawaiian styled..also I'm sure you already have tiki torches and things of that sort. maybe get some grass skirts that te guests can put on later on in the night? I'm not sure how elegant or laid back you are going.

I would suggest a flower necklace for each one of your guests. And, you can have a little note on the necklace that say, "I got lei'd at Julie and Jim's wedding". It could be very cute, and quite a conversation piece, especially one that Aunt Bertha and Uncle Humphrey will chuckle at for years to come.

I would have one of your ushers give each guest a lei as they enter the reception site. You could give a pineapple as a favor.

We're doing the same for our wedding. Here are some pictures of ideas that we're thinking of using:http://www.flickr.com/photos/24495304@N07/We're also going to be having a tiki bar, leis for each of the guests, "special" leis for our parents, hula dancers, etc.

omg.i didnt think anyone else would do this haha.my wedding was luau themed and for the favors we got little wicker baskets and ribbon of our colors and tied it to them with a little tag that said "a basket full of kisses from the new mr. and mrs." and filled them with hersheys kisses.we picked a few family members to lei guests as they left the church headed to the reception(same location).we made out guest book...we picked a cool picture on cardstock from a floral/wedding store and got our names and the date printed on vellum and punched holes into the cardstock and tan colored paper(cuz it looked good with the beachy picture) and tied it together with blue ribbon.i thought it was nice and very crafty.i duno if u have a dollar tree but i got a few cute porcelein palm trees that i put out places from there.hope i helped!!!GOODLUCK!!!when is the special day!???

Hiii Smile My wedding in June will be a Luau reception also! Isn't is fun! Well, I bought raffia table skirts at Target last week for $4.99 each...they were in the summery aisle. You can't beat that price! I am hanging a net around the bar and sticking a few starfish that I found at the dollar store. Also, my centerpieces will be fresh pineapples that I am carving out and putting fresh flowers in...kinda like a vase, but they will be laying on the side rather than sitting up. I'm ordering ti leaves from Hawaii and putting one at each guest table under a pineapple 'vase'. My card box is a tiki hut style house that we made out of wood from Home Depot. Then I glued on popsicle sticks and stained them to look like wood. It's amazing! Smile For my favors, I burned cd's of hawaiian music and I bought cd labels at the Dollar Tree...my cake topper is a hawaiian couple kissing...so I took a picture of it and used it as the image on the cd label. Then for the cd case I printed a photo of us on photo paper and typed the song names, cut squares of 5 by 5 inches and placed them in the cd cases. I will have tiki torch candle holders on the cake table and place card table...and a few outdoor tiki holders near the entrance outside. My sisters will be "lei-ing" the guests as they enter the reception (Silk leis from ebay!). Also, we hired luau dancers and a fire dancer for one hour...two dancers plus one guy came to about $400...Hope my ideas helped! You can have so much fun with this theme! Congrats! Smile
