haha. i wasn't very girly growing up and never really thought about getting married but since my first serious relationship i have started planning my dream wedding. it also helps that my friends are starting to marry and i have been in weddings and helped out with them... i have it pretty much all set in my mind- it's not something i obsess over- no book pasted together or anything haha but i know what i want... is this something you or someone else you know has done?sigh…. it’s really not that serious, just a frivolous question that I was expecting to get giddy oh yeah me too or yeah i thought my friend was nuts for that kind of answers to.i realize that there is more to it all than cake…. but no sense in being a wedding scrooge and ignoring the fact that there does happen to be a party associated with the vows that lock you in to a life time of love…. and hard work. the commitment is certainly the most important thing about that day and whomever the groom turns out to be I know he will be who i’m meant for, my perfect complement- in the day to day- someone i can trust and work with and stand to wake up to every day- way not the- oh my prince charming *sigh, eye flutter*... i’m also only 21 and realize i still have a lot of learning and living to do…. now is still the time to have fun and find me- i was only messing around with this question, having fun.planing way in advance is something i’ve always done but I’m not daft, i realize that the hubby to be (and his family too) will have his own ideas and plans and dreams too and of course he has a say- just as big as mine. if we’re going to be staunchly realistic about it…. i will probably never have the money to do every single little thing i think about…. should i just not think about it at all then?had i known i needed to preface my questions to prove I am of sound body and mind before i asked them… probably wouldn’t have wasted my time- but i hope you accomplished what you came for and were able to put a feather in your cap for putting me in my place  ) |

| i think we all do that at some time or otheri too wasnt girly growing up, but i have started thinking about my wedding day, the one thing i didnt envisage was, that when i met the guy i wanted to marry, that he would have plenty of ideas himself of how HE envisaged us getting married, it has however made it even more special |

| Yeah, pretty much. I started looking at wedding gowns and floral arrangements when I was pretty young. I had big plans for what my wedding would be like, all the way down to using the second movement from "Ein Kleine Nachtmusik" instead of the traditional wedding march. I ended up marrying a guy I hadn't known long enough and we just went to Vegas. Biggest regret of my life...on every level. I was almost 40 at the time and didn't know if I'd ever have another opportunity. Now I'm paying the price, believe me. And the dream wedding...it will never happen, even if I ever find Mr. Right. |

| I think you'll be disappointed if you think wedding days are about cake, invites, location, food etc.They are about the commitment you make to the person you are to marry, thats all that matters.Why are you planning to the nth degree now ? It seems you are not taking into account ANY of the grooms wishes ( because he doesn't exist yet ) , hows that going to work longterm ? |

| It's normal Toots but beware...a groom as I'm sure you know isn't a mising puzzel piece...he comes with ideas of his own on how he wants his wedding to be and don't forget, he'll have a whole tribe of relatives with their own ideas as well...and are not afraid to voice those ideas, sometimes in a rather pushy manner so...Dream away. Just realise that it's a dream at this point and when the time comes you may have to put the notion of compromise in effect so both of you have the happy wedding you want, otherwise there wil be discord and disappointment with tears...good luck. |
