OK, I'm almost 20 & I've been doing this for about 5 years now. I have a journal that I have been writing love letters in for my future husband, I was inspired when I went to a youth conference at my church & the woman talking told us about how she wrote love letters to her husband before she married him & on her wedding night, she gave him the journal.Mind you, I don't write in it every single day but I do write in it enough. It's a small journal with a white rose that says "Love" on it & I've enclosed my deepest thoughts, etc. about my hope for a future with him. Because of this, I am almost finished with my journal (I've had it for 5 yrs now). Before, I used to think it was a cheesy/immature idea before I started actually doing it. I dont' want to make it a public affair to anyone & I don't tell very many people (only people that know are my mom & a close friend). I guess I just wanted to ask what are your thoughts on this?Peter Gibbons: Why do you think I am creating big shoes for my husband to fill? My journal is not a journal of expectations of him. It is just me telling him that I am praying for him, his safety & I am willing to work hard to make our future marriage last. I am confused.

i think that is so adorable and once you actually get married, you and your husband can begin a journal of love letters made for each other.

I don't think that it's cheesy or immature. However, I do think you are creating very big shoes for your future husband to fill.

Is this for a current boyfriend or for some random person you haven't met yet? That's what's confusing me. If you're not even 20 yet and you've been doing this for 5 yrs then you were 14 yrs old when you started. That's a little strange. Have you been in this relationship since you were 14? It's a cute idea though if you actually are in a relationship & it's intended for a person you're with. If they're love letters to a person you don't know yet, then I would say you have some issues.

No it is not immature or cheesy at all, in fact it a great idea to show your future husband how much you loved him. To tell you the truth, I did the same thing to my husband.

I have heard of this before and I think it's really neat, very interesting, and I don't think that it's creating expectations of your future husband at all. I think it's great that even though you may not have met yet, that your thinking about him.

My wife did something similar to that. I even got to read it on our first year anniversary. It was nice. I liked it.
