Just pretend there is someone else there. You can do it. They wouldnt have out you there if they did not trust you. Take your time. Recheck shots over again and be patient and calm:)You can do this.

Invest some extra pre-wedding time in getting to know the couple, what they like, their hang-ups, etc. Tell them you want to give them a professional and comprehensive package, which means getting shots of their shopping, family discussion, the bride's dress and make-up. Get shots of their visit to the priest, chatting with pals. This WILLbe easier and less time consuming than it sounds. It all comes together in the editing process.

People telling you don't be nervous does not help, though their intentions are good. I've been doing weddings for years now, and I STILL get very nervous before each one. I think if you ever get to the point that you are not nervous, then you are no longer trying anymore or wanting to do a great job. Some of the best actors and musicians in the world have been known to get half sick before each performance. So I am NOT going to you "don't be nervous". It is something you can't help, and it shows you are thinking and concerned. I will say just fight through it. It WILL ease up very quickly. One thing that helps me tremendously is to get to the venue very early. I can take plenty of test shots and look for good compositions. It calms me a LOT.Another little thing I do for myself. I promise myself a treat after the wedding. Eating out at my favorite restaurant or going to a show.. or just anything as kind of a reward to myself after the wedding. To get to a more practical level, I am assuming you have back up equipment for camera bodies and flash units and lenses? I was the typical idiot when I started and worked with no backup equipment. Thank heavens nothing ever happened, but it was always a big, and REAL, fear of mine that I would have equipment failure and be dead in the water. After getting the back up equipment like I should have had in the first place, I felt a hundred times more at ease, because I knew I was going to get the wedding covered no matter what.So go for it... as soon as you get to the venue and get to doing some shooting, you will feel a million times better and actually have fun with it all.But as I said, to this day, I STILL get nervous at home before every wedding shoot. Just part of the profession.steve

I agree with all of the good advice that you have received here.I have photographed hundreds of weddings, and the best thing you can do is go to the job totally prepared so that you feel confident. I'm sure you are competent with your photography or you would not have been hired. So just make sure you know your equipment inside out and that you have spare camera bodies, flash units, and extra cords. Make sure you know where all the locations are that you have to be at, and make sure you are dressed professionally so that you feel comfortable. Make sure your vehicle is up to snuff and that you fuel it the night before. Take care of these things and once you get going, the day just flies by.Ed

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
