| I am looking for aplace to post an ad to hire a student or someone who has just started a photography business? We are getting married in Mexico and I would really love for it to be photographed but I due to our budget I can't afford to spend $1000's of dollars + travel and accomodation expenses + purchase a print package from a studio. If you or someone you know may have any suggestions Please, Please, Please forward this question onto them. Thank You in advance for your answers!!CheersI didn't realize that I didn't put: We will pay for all travel realted expenses (flight, room, food, beverages). What we are looking for is a photographer that would benefit from the experience, e.g. expand their portfolio. Sory about the onfusion. As for the resort as they are BRAND new they do not have any of these services available besides I am a little apprehensive hiring a photographers work sight unseen and/or without talking to them at the very least.Sorry about the confusion and thank you for your replies!!!One more thing I am from Canada so although I would like to hire a Canadian, an American phpotgrapher would be jsut fine as well. | My suggestion is to look into Craigslist, or scout the internet for photographers where you are going, and/or ask the hotel you are staying in if there are any recommendations. |

| Try making flyers and posting them at your local colleges and universities. |

| You are not going to find a US photographer who is willing to pay for their own trip to Mexico without seriously jacking up the prices on it to reflect that huge expense. My suggestion is to contact the hotel or resort where you will be staying. They can help you get a local photographer or a wedding planner who can reccomend somebody who is already there. Be prepared for them not to speak a slew of English so I suggest you get a guidebook or learn some basic phrases before you go.The other option is to do some basic portraits in your wedding attire on a beach when you get back to mimic the Mexican wedding or ask guests to snap photos for you.... |

| You might want to try having a guest from you wedding take come photos. That would certainly keep costs down. Or some destination wedding pkgs. come with wedding photographer.. .I would check into that as well.... You could also inquire at the hotel or online of photographers that might be in Mexico that can help you..... |

| Caution on that one . . . if your planning a 'Destination Wedding' most venues can provide you with the name/# of photographers they recommend. They may even include this service in one of their wedding packages. |

| Why would you prefer to hire a student over someone who has lots of experience, but is local to the site? I married a photographer, and we hired a guy local to our wedding site (also destination wedding), and our photos came out great. One of the great things about hiring a local guy is you know they know the good shots because they do them over and over. We also had other photographers there, but the pix the guy we hired took were great! I wou;dnt hesitate to hire the local guy. You can find someone on the internet. Just google wedding photographer and the place where you're planning to marry. |

| Try sending an email to this photographywww.slackphotography.comWE are using him for our destination wedidng to Italy and all he is asking is that we cover his plane ticket, wonderful work, very talented and we get all teh proofs, a cd of all the images and a photo album as well as a pre-wedding photo session in florence (we are getting married in italy)I dont know if he would offer the package again but it's worth a try! |
