I'm into photography, but have only worked with a digital camera.I found my moms old film camera the other day and a few minutes ago found some old film.I heard somewhere that you can still use expired film, the colours just don't come out like regular film.Is this true? The film I found was kept in the freezer. But there is also film at my work that I was thinking about getting and trying that is only a few months expired and has been sitting on a self in the store for that long.

Absolutely. My husband is a photographer and buys expired film all the time. Sometimes the colors are funky, sometimes they're great... but he hasn't had a bad roll yet!

You can use expired film and should be fine. As long as its been kept in a cool dry place the colors should be fine.

Expired film is fine, especially if it's been kept somewhere cool (like a fridge), it will last some years after the expiration date.

It is a matter of how far past the expiry date and in what sort of conditions it has been stored. Sounds like it wasn't stored in a fridge, which would make it last longer. But the older it gets, the more it degrades. If it is kept cool and dry it degrades more slowly. So if what you have has been stored at room temperature for quite a while, you can still use it, just don't expect the results to be award winners.
