Well here's the thing, I just got into photography(film) this year, I started taking a class at my high school and I absolutely love it but I'm having some trouble. See here's the situation, for a while in photo class I was turning in solid A work but ti was pretty average, well I'm also one school news paper and I did a story about my friends older brother named Ben and one of his friends Nick that were having an art show (it was all photos), and so I got to knowing this Nick kid, he's older then Ben, Nick's 21 (I'm 17) and he's such a incredible photographer and we've went out and shot together a couple of times and everything. But when I look at his stuff compared to mine I find I have a harder time trying to find something interesting to take pictures of, I don't have a muse at this point, it's so hard to find what inspires me these days, I'm really stuck with this right know, how can I get out of this little problem? Because I love photography and I want to make it part of my lifeAnd this Nick kid has been helping me, he works at a photography store and even got my my own first camera almost half off. He helps but he intimidates me at the same time, like I just feel like in his head he's criticizing me all the time.

Sounds like you need to take more pictures of Nick. If thats not an option, more pictures with Nick, but not necessarily of what Nick takes pictures of.Maybe you need a little challenge in your life. You say you dont find anything interesting to take pics of. Well sometimes its right there staring us in the face. Sometimes its more about whats not in the picture than what is in the picture. Find a dull situation and try to make it interesting. A city park can be kind of blan, but a shot of the ladybug crawling past the crack in the sidewalk may seam more interesting. Its the same park, you have just changed the viewers perspective.Enough from me though. Go shoot something.
