There is a lot I like about the show, but I think they go too far with Michael. Sure the guy is supposed to be a clueless tool, but I think they take it to the point of absurd. I just watched the episode about Phyllis' wedding. The things Michael does at the wedding were just cringe inducing - way beyond what you would expect from a complete idiot. Just curious to hear what others think.

I agree, they take it too far lately. The 1st season was just the right amount of Michael Scott, the 2nd ok, the 3rd and 4th seasons are just too much. They need to focus on the other characters, like Creed, Kevin and Andy. Less of the Jim and Pam love story too. The show has so many good characters they need to give them all a chance to shine.

I agree about the cringe inducing behavior..especially at Phyllis' wedding...however, I think that most of the stuff he does just qualifies as comedy television. I know that it's supposed to be a 'mockumentary' and seem real and everything, but wouldn't that be a little boring? This way you can call your friends and talk about the overly stupid thing Michael did tonight, and how all the other workers had to deal with him...
