i would NEVER Spend $1700 on a purse. even if i had it. i get mad at people i know for spending $300 on a pair of shoes. if you can't handle the way he is than you had better not stick around because he isn't going to change. you are spoiled.

Your future husband is in no way cheap! He is smart... it sounds like he knows his paycheck is not guaranteed so he must SAVE for a rainy day. Something you have not learned yet.
