I'm getting married in August of 09 and starting to think about my colors and theme. I think that I want the theme to be bright and happy....with the main flowers being daisies or sunflowers. I really like bright pink and it would be nice to somehow incorporate it w/out making the wedding tacky. But what color can I put my bridesmaids in that will be flattering and go w/ the theme? And what is a good combo of overall colors for the wedding? Thanks!

I would think that mauve, pink, and lavender would be a great combination. When I married of my son I wanted lots of color and asked the florist to add yellow flowers to the bouquets. He tought I was nuts, but it turned out gorgeous.

Lovely choice Smile I'm thinking blues, perhaps torquoise? It goes nicely with yellow (in sunflowers) and bright pinksheres some picshttp://www.bestbridalprices.com/images/raylia/fall06/tn_patsy.jpghttp://www.bestbridalprices.com/images/raylia/fall06/tn_kodi.jpghttp://www.greatdreams.com/sacred/bridesmaids2.gifTorquoise or light blues can be teamed with brown, but its cute with pastel pinks and yellowsYou can have bright bouquets but soften down the look with white flowers as it looks pure with blue. http://www.fantasticweddingdeals.com/WeddingSunflower2.jpghttp://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://floristblogs.com/photos/bloomery/images/588/425x346.aspx&imgrefurl=http://floristblogs.com/photos/bloomery/picture588.aspx&h=346&w=425&sz=31&hl=en&start=12&um=1&tbnid=uDDb3C9QguXPWM:&tbnh=103&tbnw=126&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsunflower%2Bbouquets%2Bpink%26um%3D1%26hl%3DenEDIT:oh and I like pink daisies :)http://www.blumen.com/images/pink%20bouquet.jpghttp://www.theromancespecialists.com/services/bouquets/images/daisybouquet.jpgBut if your not keen on blues, when you think of happy you do think of bright colours like orange but then you like pink. I found this picture, its rust red tone and you can get away with salmon pink flowers, its cutehttp://www.weddingbee.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/02/instyle-05fall-a.jpg

Pale pink or Lilac are nice either on their own or together but it also depends on what your H2B wants, Have you sat down with him and asked what colours he likes aswell? x

I would go with a yellow for the bridesmaids dresses. Just keep the Ceremony Colors simple. And then for the reception, you can use more colors, yellows and pinks. I would even consider using more colors then just two. Maybe an orange and just other bright colors that a daisy comes in. I think as long as you don't over do it, it will come out very very nice! I would keep the linens simple colors and just make the flowers and other simple decorations the ones with all the color! Not sure if you have a knot sign in but here's a good example of a lot of color done tastefully.http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/realweddings/detailview.aspx?id=29170&type=3&colors=Pinkhttp://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/realweddings/detailview.aspx?id=22817&type=3&colors=Pink&pageIndex=6

Leah, I love this look...it has bright colors and you could focus in on one of them for the reception. For your bouquet you might go with one of the flower types and do different shades of pink in that flower (example, go with different shades of pink gerberas, or go with light pink, white and stargazer lillies)It is very summery and I am considering using this look if we can ever pick a date!http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/realweddings/detailview.aspx?id=23533&type=3%2c11&wedding_details=Bridesmaid+Bouquets&colors=orange

Yellow and pink are perfect summer colors. You can include other colors as well. Don't feel limited to only two, use a variety of warm colors. I think the bridesmaids would look very nice in pink dresses though.check out these links for ideas!http://www.liweddings.com/chat/topic-493417-1.htmlinspiration boards:http://bp1.blogger.com/_oZuFDni50Qs/RzIGfk-PugI/AAAAAAAAANQ/RviZO6NFXTQ/s1600-h/Inspiration+Board+11.jpghttp://bp3.blogger.com/_oZuFDni50Qs/RzIPME-PuhI/AAAAAAAAANY/36EhiHKbHFE/s1600-h/Inspiration+Board+12.jpgother ideas:http://www.vancouverflorists.com/zoomimages/FFGD_c.jpghttp://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-7919480820973/sunflower-wedding-cake.JPG

Congrats! I am getting married this july and our colors are Sky blue and Silver, with bright pink flowers (Roses, Gerberas, Starfighter lillies & Lots of fresh greens). The White and Black of the tuxes will really make the Blue a fresh summer hue and the pinks will really punch. Sunflowers can be really beautiful-perhaps for you, use a mossy green color? That way, the women are toned down, and the flowers really stand out. If the dresses are tea length, that adds an air of flirtation and sweetness too. Good luck! Best wishes
