All of the dresses that I have found so far have been looking more like grandmother dresses. I am only 45 and do not want to look like an old lady or a bridesmaid. The bride's mom is older by at least 10 years--She is wearing a light green dress and the stepmom is wearing a peach dress. It is a very casual wedding..The maid of honor is wearing blue and the flower girls are wearing pink. Any suggestions??***Thank you everyone! You all had some great suggestions and so very helpful with the web sites. I got some great ideas!

Maybe a long dress with a wrap? What color do you like that looks good on you? I would go with that. Best of luck!

Try looking at Fred Meyer, or somewhere at the mall, where she can get a nice blouse with a flowing skirt. My mom got her's from Fred Meyer, it's just a white shirt and a black and white skirt that goes down to a few inches from her ankles.

Just take your FDIL (lol) shopping for a day... Maybe she can help you find something you really like. If all else fails, go with a knee length skirt with a floral pattern and a shirt and lightweight jacket. It doesn't have to be a dress Smile Good luck

Try finding a flowy skirt... say about just a little longer then your knees. This will also break up your body into sections and make you look taller.... and def. not like a grandma.

Hi. Yes, I know what you mean. I was only 43 when my daughter was married.I like a lot of these ones from Chadwicks. I don't know if you want long or short (I am assuming short since it's casual), but this site has lots of options.Good luck in your search!http://www.chadwicks.com/Womens-Special-Occasion.aspx?DeptId=8219&Page=1&12PerPage=true

I came across this dress (please click on link below) that I think would be just perfect for you for the occasion, but you would need a jacket, a stole, or a shawl to go with it.The dress is also available in a size 14 (you have to move the size arrow to go to 14).

My mom hadthe same problem trying to find a dress. We went out and got her a cocktail dress. What's your price range? Body type? here are options: These are very flattering... and age appropriatehttp://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod56230073&parentId=cat12110745&masterId=cat10100736&index=0&cmCat=cat000000cat000001cat000111cat000127cat10100736cat12110745http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod53170256&parentId=cat12110745&masterId=cat10100736&index=3&cmCat=cat000000cat000001cat000111cat000127cat10100736cat12110745http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod56230074&parentId=cat12110745&masterId=cat10100736&index=11&cmCat=cat000000cat000001cat000111cat000127cat10100736cat12110745http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=306057&CategoryID=22120http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=309090&CategoryID=22120http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=294395&CategoryID=5449&LinkType=EverGreenhttp://www.anntaylor.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=14844&N=1200003&pCategoryId=101&categoryId=180&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_180&defaultColorNameFromCategory=Parrot&defaultSizeTypeFromCategory=Misseshttp://www.anntaylor.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=14064&No=15&pCategoryId=101&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_180&N=1200003&Nty=1&categoryId=180&defaultColorNameFromCategory=Navy&defaultSizeTypeFromCategory=Misseshttp://www.jcrew.com/catalog/product.jhtml?id=prod93591171&catId=cat302202http://www.jcrew.com/catalog/product.jhtml?id=prod93605171&catId=cat302202http://www.jcrew.com/catalog/product.jhtml?id=prod93597171&catId=cat302203 Even if it is a very casual wedding you are still mother of the groom... my suggestion is to dress comfortable and feel amazing. Even though it's casual it is your sons wedding

My mom ordered her's from Alfred Angelo. They have great MOB/MOG dresses and pants sets that look like dresses and are perfect for a wedding of course! Something like this is nicehttp://www.alfredangelo.com/Collections/ProductDisplay.aspx?productID=bf48f945-7989-4aa3-afd7-ff99debce27d&categoryID=01192db8-bf9e-425c-a67c-e0e9484157ae&pg=1This is the exact outfit my mom ordered but I think she ordered a different jacket.http://www.alfredangelo.com/Collections/ProductDisplay.aspx?productID=ca6839e0-1735-48eb-bd95-4d7a5e293cde&categoryID=01192db8-bf9e-425c-a67c-e0e9484157ae&pg=1Here is the direct link to their mothers section. http://www.alfredangelo.com/Collections/DisplayCollection.aspx?categoryId=01192DB8-BF9E-425C-A67C-E0E9484157AEThey have just about everything in 54 different colors and most all of their tops, skirts, jackets can be mixed and matched. SO if you find a top you like that is paired with a bottom you don't like you can find a bottom you like and order it that way and in the color that looks best on you! Good luck and I hope this helps. You can use their store finder to find a shop in your area that carries their line.

Help is here!! You already have some great answers and I just want to give you a few more options to consider. I work in a Bridal shop and work with Mothers everyday. This is what I do.... with out having much information about the venue or your taste this is just a few of the options I suggest for you. http://www.moncheribridals.com/CollectionHome.aspx?cname=MontageStyle Number: 18927 http://www.daymor.com/frame_recent1024x768.htmStyle Number: 5060 or 3451 You can choose to order the dress in different colors and I would suggest a light color to go with the theme of the wedding but not a color that someone else is wearing.

moncheribridals.com, rinadimontella.com, alexbridals.com, netbride.com, wholesaleweddinggowns.com, also gownfind.com. moncheri has stunning MOB gowns. If it is very casual, try edressme.com, lordandtaylor.com, nordstroms.com, dillards.com, macys.com, jcpenney.com. Good Luck
