I can't believe that girl would tell you to leave your fiance. That's laughable! Wanting to wear comfortable clothes is not a red flag.Personally, I would let my fiance wear whatever he wants. But I would never forgo my wedding dress of choice.Maybe you can compromise. I've seen many weddings (mostly beach or garden weddings) where the man wears a white shirt and khaki pants instead of a suit or tux. It still looks nice! You want him to be comfortable too!If you're getting married in a church, make him wear a suit. It's just respectful.

There are many beautiful white wedding dresses you could do with this...or do you want a big puffy very formal wedding dress? I can see you and your girls in nice dresses and the guys in black dress pants, white dress shirt and tie... He isn't asking for a jeans and tshirt wedding so I'm sure there is a nice easy compromise here.

Hi and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! To answer your question.....no, this is not unusual to have casual attire for a wedding. However, you want to keep in mind what type of wedding/reception you are having. For example....you most certainly can be married in a nice church (if you want), or outdoors, beach, park, etc. The casual attire is fine for whatever ceremony you want. If, however, you are having a reception at a very fancy hotel, country club or banquet facility, the casual attire may not be suitable. You don't want your guests to show up more dressed up than you! If you are having more of a casual reception....then the casual attire will be perfect! What he wants to wear is fine. For you.....there is no reason why you have to give up your dream of a white wedding dress. Why not just make it a more casual one. I can certainly understand where you are coming from with that idea. If it was me....I would definitely want the white dress. Have you looked around? I love the casual ones on David's Bridal. Here are a few:http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3515&prodgroup=10http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3510&prodgroup=10http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3179&prodgroup=10http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3187&prodgroup=10I don't know your taste, but again, you can still have a white dress or gown, but keep it more casual.Good luck with your planning!

Try to come to a compromise. Tell him that you always dreamed of a wedding gown and your family would be terribly disappointed to see you in a dress on your wedding day. You should look into semi formal wedding dresses. See alfredangelo.com and dessy.com. or do a search: destination wedding gowns. He should consider instead of a tux, a great well fitted midnight blue or black dress suit. Then work from there. This way, you will both be happy. No sense getting into a fight because of wedding attire. alfredangelo.com has the most gorgeous semi formal gowns and so does dessy, so you can find a gown that is not all glitzy, bouffant, and over the top, but yet wear a wedding gown like you dreamed of, and he will not be in a tux, but a nice suit.
