Ok...so my parents (bride's) aren't really paying for much of the wedding, and they are divorced. My father is remarried, and step mother played part in raising me, so I feel she should be listed with my father, mother never remarried (but she's paying the greater proportion of what my folks are contributing). Groom's parents are paying for most of the wedding, and I feel like they should have invitation superiority on the invitation...but I don't know how to word this without it seeming like a crazy/tackyinvitation.I can't just say "together with parents/families" because the groom's family is insisting that names be present on the invitation. Otherwise I would have printed it out that way (it was my first choice).

You can word invitations several different ways depending on who is paying for the wedding, etc. Here are a few sites that you can look at that will give you some good information about how to word your invites! I hope that it helps. Good luck :)http://www.invitationconsultants.com/sw-...http://www.custompaper.com/selections.ht...http://weddings.about.com/cs/invitations...http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/http://www.formal-invitations.com/invita...

Just say Together with their familiesBride's NameandGroom's Namerequest the honor of your presence as they exchange vows...etc etc.EDIT:It's going to look ridiculously crazy if you print the names of your parents, step mother, and the grooms parents. The only way to word it would be to say Brides Mother and Mr and Mrs Brides Father along with Mr and Mrs Grooms Parents request the honor of your presence at the wedding of their Children, Brides Name, and Grooms Name. It's going to look very busy.

It doesn't matter who is paying for what for the wedding; parents are listed simply out of respect, and to show the relationship with the couple getting married. So, for example -Mary Brenda, daughter of John (Lisa) Smith and Brenda Smith, andWilliam Mark, son of Mark and Susan Jonesrequest the honour of your presence....('Lisa' is the first name of your stepmom)

My husbands family is very split up. Both of his parents have been divorced numerous times and remarried, and we didn't want to put a million names on the invitation. We did Together with their families, then our names, request the honor of your presence...etc on ours. It was the best wording we could find, and it made everyone happy.

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
