I'm 37 was engaged and for the first time as happy and confident as I could be with the woman I was with. It was the first time I can honeslty say I loved unconditionally, nothing but faith in us after five years, we got through the ups and downs to get where we were. The wedding date was set, a week after picking out invitations we had a small squable over money and she called it off very unexpectedly. I know she was not as committed as I was, not in love as much as I was, had doubts and such. Things were very good and we were both happy before this little squabble, she was exitedly planning the wedding and discussing having children. Then it was as if she wanted nothing to do with me. I'm not looking for answers as to what happened, so much as how to forget all the good things I remember and feel inside me in order to move on. All she remembers is the bad things, which were really "typical" things, like a disagreement. If things were not perfect in her eyes, they were horrible.

You answered all of your own questions, she obviously was not as committed to the relationship as you were. You cannot force someone to love you......................she may have done you a favor, move on, when one door closes another one will open...............

Get some counseling for yourself. and Know that there is nothing that you could have done to change it. and that maybe it is for the better.

I think you should not rely on her memories to move on. If she only wants to remember the bad times then that is her choice. You need to do what's best for you and they may include no longer associating with her. Try moving on one day at a time. Give yourself a certain amount of time to remember the relationship and each day decrease this time. Do things that make you happy and look on the bright side- it's better that the relationship ended prior to you marrying her.
