Hi all,me and my fiance attend a local church and we were planning to get married there, however, the church is set to be renivated around the date of our wedding and usual service will take place in a rented hall untill its finished. (oops)We really would of liked our pastor to marry us, but we have no church, we live in Northern Ireland so it cant be done outside.Do you think any churches would allow us to use their church for our day? or do they usually insist on taking the service plus most churches insist you attend their church 6 weeks before you can marry there.im stuck |

You won't know until you call up churches and ask. Explain the situation so that you don't come across as "shopping for a pretty backdrop" like many people do.

talk to your pastor and the pastor of the church you choose. its up to the two of them to make the decision. if the 'other' churches won't allow it, then ask your pastor if he will officiate at your wedding in a hall or garden or park or somewhere else. good luck and happy wedding!

Of course you can, speak to your Pastor he'll put you in the picture.Almost any church will let you use their church but there will be a cost to them which will need to be met by you.

Honestly, it depends on the church, and that church's pastor. We went through a TON of churches, but eventually found one that allowed us to use the pastor that we had already chosen. Try a Unitarian Universalist church, or a Non-denominational (inter-denominational) christian church. Good luck!

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
