My wedding reception is coming up in a few weeks. I am a big girl with very fair skin. In outdoor photos and flash photography I tend to white out and look like a marshmallow. What can I do to avoid this without looking like Divine? Does anyone have a helpful link or tip on how to look slimmer without looking very "made up?"

Go into a few department stores and ask the make-up counter to make you up with this in mind, then get a friend to photograph you. See what effect works best on you

1. Apply face stuff [moisturizer, concealer, foundation, powder--whatever]2. Apply shimmery brown eyeshadow to your lids and BLEND 3. Put black eyeliner in the inside of your eye4. Apply mascara sparingly but get every lash5. Get a bronzer without talc [link!!]6. Put one dash of rosy blush on your cheeks that you can't see a differencee..but trust me it'll add that color you'll need6. chapstick, nude lipliner--that's it

Apply heavier makup to your eyes. Use blush to darken under the cheekbones and give you the hollowed cheek look. Also use a slightly darker foundation under your chin to minimize a double chin. The key to looking thiner in pictures is to have the camera "looking down" at you. So have the photgrapher stand above you whenever possible, looking down and it will easily cut 20 lbs.

The very best thing for you to do is start visiting make up counters at the better tors like Dillard's, 5th Ave, places like that. They have somewhat professional make up artists there that will help you find the look you want and then you will get the samples for free.If you do not feel confident that you an give yourself the look you want check into day spas. Most of those have wonderful make up people and they are inexpensive, finally you can always find a local Glamor Shots and they WILL do a killer job on your make up, you do not have to buy the photo package to get it done. Being plus size has nothing to do with it I have a friend that weighs in about 90 pounds soaking wet holding a bag of bricks and she has the same trouble.Good luck on your wedding!

Generally, applying light bronzer and well placed blush/ rouge will help to combat any white out effect. Often you can have your makeup done professionally for a small fee at a department store, and they may know more.

Okay... I know what you need.Dove makes a self tanner for fair skins. It is a lotion with a hint of tanner, so you get slow even results. Having a slight tan not only makes you look thinner, but healtheir and younger!A trick for makeup application is this.. keep blotters on hand, to get rid of excess oil without ruining your makeup. Lay a towel over your wedding dress while you powder your nose before the pictures, to keep everything clean. But on your big day, you don't want a lot of make-up. Try going for a natural look, pinks and taupes.A trick for the sun is, photograph in the shade. This way everything doesn't have that bright white (glow-in-the-dark) look.Try taking your pictures standing under a large tree. This not only provides shade, but it is a great prop. Can't you picture it: a bride and groom, arm in arm or kissing by the tree?If none of the above works for you, you can try black and white photos. They look not only chic, but nostalgic. I have never seen an ugly black and white wedding photo. (Perk is, with black and white, either you're black or your white!)

First of all what does being plus-size have anything to do with make-up?? nothing!!! you are beautiful at any size. you could go to m.a.c. an let them fix u up or do some nice golds or browns along with the autumn feel. nothing loud like purple just something soft and neutral. definitely go to the m.a.c. counter and invest in some of there makeup. Congrats!!!
