My Brother has recently picked up photography as a spare time hobby/income, He didn't think he could make money at it til he started getting requests from friends and coworkers, Now he is looking and trying to find some studio lights, Just two for now a soft box light? and an Umbrella style light. Anyone know of any good sites he doesn't mind if they're used, As he doesn't have a huge budget so something reasonably priced would be perfect, Any tips Info opinions and experiences are welcome and appreciated,Sorry thinking about it now I might have helped if I would've mentioned I'm in the Charlotte area of North Carolina,US

I'm not sure where you're located but photography is one thing that a lot of people get into, either as an occupation or a hobby, and then realize that it's not for them so you might want to look into any on-line "used" type of classifieds. Also, some photography shops sell used equipment but I would look there as a last resort because even their resell is priced very high. Better to find someone who's been doing it on thier own and now wants to get rid of all their stuff to clear their basement. You're most likely going to get a much better deal with someone like that.

I wouldn't mess around with used photography gear. Amazon has as good of prices as anybody. http://astore.amazon.com/cappismyspacp-20You could pretty easily build a soft box on your own. Google DIY softboxes. Flashpoint makes a good affordable strobe.Good luck

Go to http://adorama.com they have excellent lighting tutorials, and reasonably priced starter lighting kits. Another good source is http://alienbees.com .. they too, have excellent lighting and some great modestly priced beginner set ups.
