I've only been going for a year so far... but I've spent sooo much already. When I started I only thought about tuition, I didn't realize I'd be spending so much on equipment and supplies as well. I keep finding that I need to buy this and buy that... and then there's the other things that I don't really need but I really want (yeah, I know... I should wait, but sometimes I just can't resist). How much did you spend overall for photography school?

Me too... I've already spent $2000 on a starting kit, $2000 for lenses, $500 for an external flash, $300 for photo paper and matte boards, $300 for studio props... plus tuition and books. Yikes! And I still have 2 more years left!

Art school, I think they said $5,000 for supplies for the year is standard.

My Sinar with 210mm lens, sheet film holders, etc and a good tripod was in the neighborhood of $3,000. I already had a Nikon 35mm system (ten lenses and three bodies).Matte board was purchased in 50 sheet boxes for the savings, I bought 100 sheet 4x5 film again to save money. I think $5,000 a year for supplies may be a little low, but that may have to do with waste when film was exposed and developed incorrectly and damaged matte board along the way.Summer classes abroad was quite expensive, but that was my choice, they had other options locally.Tuition is tuition ... it seems to be the only stable cost I had during whole time

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
