My uncle is singing a song at our wedding while my dad plays the guitar. I have bought all of my attendants gifts, and a candle for each of the people who keep the guest book and serve, etc., but do i buy him a gift too? i don't think he's expecting one, but i don't want to be rude.

A nice thank you card will suffice.

At this point, what's one more gift? It would be a nice way to say thank you. Or, even a nice personal thank you card would be acceptable.

It's entirely up to you. =)I have 5 siblings - and only one is an actual attendant for my wedding. The other 4 will be providing music for the ceremony. Since both of my fiance's siblings are attendants, we are getting the same gifts for my siblings, even though they're not officially part of the wedding party. I think you needn't worry about hurting anyone's feelings regardless of which way you go. Just make sure to specifically mention the contribution to the ceremony in the thank you card -- although an extra candle would not cost too much to include your uncle.

anyone who HELPS in the wedding should receive a gift and card of thanks unless you are paying them.

Yes, I would just to be on the safe side. Also singing you a song is a very personal gift he is giving to you. Something small, but meaningful. Even a hand written thank you note would work.

It is completely up to you. If he offered to sing, it may be his way of giving something to you.If you asked him to sing, a trinket with the thank you will be a nice offering but is not necessary.

My uncle will be playing the piano for our ceremony, and I plan to get him a gift. So I would say yes. Also, you didn't mention it, but it's nice to get your parents a gift as well. My fiance and I are paying for our entire wedding ourselves, but we still plan to get them something small, just to thank them for what they've done for us our whole lives. We're going to write them nice thank-you letters, then after we get our CD of wedding pics from our photog, get a 8x10 of us printed and put it in a nice frame for each set of parents.

If it can fit your budget, you should give him a small token of appreciation. It would be great to be giving him even a small hip flask as a thank you. Here are more ideas: http://www.executivegiftshoppe.com/hip-flasks.html
